This Day in Wells Fargo HistoryMay 26, 1970

First National Bank of Oregon promoted Pearl Base to head its bond department, making her perhaps the first woman in the nation to run a bank investment portfolio. Base retired in 1976 after 41 years with the bank, now Wells Fargo.
